"The Referral Nobody Asks For."

The most reliable lead source for most $1 - $3m service businesses is referrals.

And most of them are almost entirely passive about generating them.

Happy clients exist. They tell people. Sometimes. When it comes up. If they remember.

But nobody asked.

I've seen businesses completely change their lead flow by doing one thing: at the end of every completed job, asking one specific question.

Not a vague "feel free to refer us."

Something specific. "Who else in your world runs a business like yours that could use what we just did?"

Specific question. Specific answer. Specific name.

The difference between a passive referral and an active one is often just one direct question at the right moment.

Most owners are too uncomfortable to ask. Or they assume happy clients will refer without prompting.

Sometimes they will. You'll get more if you ask.

When did you last directly ask a happy client for a referral?
