"What The Numbers Are Actually Telling You."
Most business owners manage from the bank account.
That's like checking the weather outside to plan your harvest season. It tells you what happened. Not what's coming.
The numbers I want to see are different.
Gross margin by service line. Not the blended total. The breakdown. Because the blended total hides the leaking line that's being carried by the profitable ones.
Debtor days. Average time from invoice to payment. Most cashflow problems aren't margin problems. They're timing problems wearing a disguise.
Pipeline value. Realistic revenue from active conversations in the next 60 days. Most financial stress is visible in the pipeline 60 days before it shows up in the bank.
Three numbers. Not complex. Just the ones that tell you where the business actually is.
Which of these do you have clear visibility on right now?
