“Fully Booked And Underpaid Is Still Underpaid.”

Busy doesn't equal profitable. I've seen this enough times to know.

Owner at 55 hours a week. Team stretched. Jobs flowing. Net profit at year end: 6%.

All that activity. That outcome.

When you're at capacity you stop selecting work. You take what comes. Quote to win not to profit. Rework creeps in. Underperforming clients stay because there's no time to manage them out.

The fix is counterintuitive. Get more selective. Price up. Take less work at better margin.

A $1.5m business at 40% gross margin makes more money than a $2m business at 25%. And the owner isn't working 60 hours to get there.

Is your business busy, or is it profitable?
